CRFS are looking for a Systems Test Engineer to be responsible for the validation and testing of RF hardware and systems in both lab and field environments. This role ensures that products meet performance, quality, and reliability standards before they are released to the market. The engineer will work within the Systems engineering team and work closely with Hardware, Software, and Production teams to identify and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Testing and Validation:
- Develop and execute test plans for hardware components and systems.
- Perform functional, performance, and stress testing to validate hardware designs.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to measure and analyze system performance.
- Implement Automated Test systems for hardware for production teams
- Field Testing:
- Set up and conduct field tests to evaluate hardware performance in real-world environments.
- Collect and analyze data from field tests to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, support, and Software teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during testing.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document test procedures, results, and observations in detailed reports.
- Provide feedback and recommendations based on test results to engineering teams.
- Maintain test logs and ensure all test activities are thoroughly documented.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with hardware design engineers to understand product specifications and testing requirements.
- Coordinate with software teams to integrate and test hardware-software interactions.
- Communicate test findings and collaborate on solutions to address identified issues.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in the development and implementation of test methodologies and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest testing technologies and industry trends.
- Suggest improvements to enhance product reliability, performance, and user experience.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in hardware testing, field testing, or a related role.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other testing equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and protocols (e.g., IEEE, ISO, MIL-STD, DEF-STAN).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using testing and diagnostic software and hardware.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Knowledge of hardware design principles and practices.
- Experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++) for test automation.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware testing.
