Job Title: Head of Software
Reports to: CTO
Location: based at the Cambridge Office

Responsibilities
Tasks include:
- To manage and lead a small team of software engineers using a range of languages ;
- To code and test software; mentor and develop team members ;
- To be the technical authority for software development processes ;
- To package and delegate work to the development team ;
- To produce requirement and design specifications ;
- To evaluate suitable platforms for future developments ;
- To ensure identification of resource needs and provide capability in a cost effective manner
Requirements
- Technical degree or proven commercial experience leading software teams ;
- Knowledge of product development lifecycles ;
- C / C++ are essential skills required for this role and experience of web development, security and encryption, communication protocols and client server based systems are desirable ;
- The ideal candidate will also possess commercial awareness, presentation skills, and customer service skills and be a great communicator ;
- Good working knowledge of software development processes ;
- Multiple sub-contract manager experience desirable
